| Oppose S2674/HR5509 Which Discriminate Against Disabled Veterans |

| Please send the following message to your elected officials
and candidates for office -- As a disabled veteran and your voting constituent,
I am most concerned with the provisions of Senator Burr's America's Wounded Warrior Act (S
2674) and Representative Buyer's Nobel Warrior Act (HR 5509), which would drastically
change the disability compensation system for America's veterans. These bills are loosely
based on the recommendations of the President's Commission on Care for America's Wounded
Warriors (Dole/Shalala Commission), but the specifics of these bills would do great harm
to these veterans in the following ways:
* Offset VA Disability Compensation by Social Security when the veteran ages
65.
* Apply to all currently discharging veterans AND any veteran under VA's
current compensation system who files a subsequent claim for additional benefits.
* Once under the new system the veteran cannot return to the current system.
* Protection for ratings in effect for 10 or more years would no longer apply.
* Would require the VA Secretary to examine or consider:
(a) "the extent to which disability compensation may be used as an
incentive to undergo treatment"
(b) "the appropriate injuries to be covered under the new
disability rating system"
(c) "age" as a determining factor when considering average
loss of earnings capacity
* Amends the law to provide the Secretary with authority to adopt and apply a
rating schedule for "specific injuries." This provision would expressly limit VA
authority over the Rating Schedule and places the authority in the hands of Congress. If
the Congress can not correct the Sustained Growth Rate formula of Medicare Law how can we
expect the Congress to do any better with the much more complex Disability Rating
Schedule?
* Provides for a quality of life payment, but only for those enrolled in the
"new" compensation system.
* Allows or suggests: That VA "may take into account the effect on
potential future earnings caused by the age of the veteran at the time a disability rating
is assigned." This provision would allow VA to compensate an older veteran at a lower
percentage of disability than a younger veteran for the exact same disease or injury. Is
this not age discrimination?
* Provides that
(a) "as frequently as [the VA] considers it appropriate, [the VA]
must reevaluate and ... adjust the disability rating for any veteran receiving
compensation;"
(b) the VA "must ... take into account any adjustments in the
rating schedule that occurred since the last assignment of a rating;"
(c) The frequency of reevaluations would be determined by an examining
physician. This places physicians back in the rating business, allows for frequent
"adjustments" to a veteran's rating based on perceived improvement, and further
allows reductions based on a change in the rating criteria even when no improvement in the
disability is shown.
For these reasons, among others, I strongly urge you to oppose S2674/HR5509 and any other
legislation which is detrimental to and/or discriminatory against this nation's veterans. |

single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890.00
and each can also get an additional $580.00 in social assistance for a total of$2,470.00 .
This compares very well to a single pensioner who after contributing to the growth and
development of America for 40 to 50 years can only receive a monthly maximum of $1,012.00
in old age pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!

Obama was not in church on the day cited, July 22, because he had a speech he gave in
Miami at 1:30 PM. Our writer, Jim Davis, says he attended several services at Senator
Obama's church during the month of July, including July 22. The church holds services
three times every Sunday at 7:30 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Central time (with weekly
praise/prayers starting 15 minutes previous to those times). While both the early morning
and evening service allowed Sen. Obama to attend the service and still give a speech in
Miami, Mr. Davis stands by his story that during one of the services he attended during
the month of July, Senator Obama was present and sat through the sermon given by Rev.
Wright as described in the story. Mr. Davis said Secret Service were also present in the
church during Senator Obama's attendance. Mr. Davis' story was first published on Newsmax
on August 9, 2007. Shortly before publication, Mr. Davis contacted the press office of
Sen. Obama several times for comment about the Senator's attendance and Rev. Wright's
comments during his sermon. The Senator's office declined to comment.

Obama staffer gave warning of NAFTA rhetoric

Barack Obama has ratcheted up his attacks on NAFTA, but a senior member of his campaign
team told a Canadian official not to take his criticisms seriously, CTV News has learned.
Both Obama and Hillary Clinton have been critical of the long-standing North American
Free Trade Agreement over the course of the Democratic primaries, saying that the deal has
cost U.S. workers' jobs.
Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama's campaign telephoned Michael
Wilson, Canada's ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak
out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.
The staff member reassured Wilson that the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric,
and should not be taken at face value.
But Tuesday night in Ohio, where NAFTA is blamed for massive job losses, Obama said he
would tell Canada and Mexico "that we will opt out unless we renegotiate the core
labour and environmental standards."
Late Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Obama campaign said the staff member's warning
to Wilson sounded implausible, but did not deny that contact had been made.
"Senator Obama does not make promises he doesn't intend to keep," the
spokesperson said.
Low-level sources also suggested the Clinton campaign may have given a similar warning
to Ottawa, but a Clinton spokesperson flatly denied the claim.
During Tuesday's debate, she said that as president she would opt out of NAFTA
"unless we renegotiate it."
Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said Wednesday that the candidates' criticisms
of NAFTA were misguided.
"(They) should recognize that NAFTA benefits the U.S. tremendously," he said.
"Those who speak of it as helpful to (just the) Canadian or Mexican economies are
missing the point."
Liberal MP and finance critic John McCallum told Canada AM that the U.S. pulling out of
NAFTA "would be a disaster for Canada."
But he added, "I hope and I believe that it's politics, because they're in a
high-stakes contest. I believe after this nominee is decided, this issue will go
away."
John Fortier, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise institute, said that in an
effort to gain votes in the anti-NAFTA state of Ohio, each candidate might find themselves
"locked-in" to their pledge to renegotiate NAFTA.
"Last night, both candidates really locked themselves in to at least doing some
serious renegotiation," Fortier told Canada AM. "But how serious they are and
what the changes (will be) . . . that's another question.
"But I don't know how Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton can get out of last night's
very clear pledge that they are going to use the opt-out (clause) as a threat to do some
serious renegotiation."
Crucial primaries in Ohio and Texas are just one week away.
During Tuesday night's debate, each candidate was quite specific about using the
six-month opt-out clause in NAFTA, to pressure Canada and Mexico into renegotiating the
deal.
The March 4 primaries are seen as vital for each candidate, but particularly Clinton.
It's expected that without a decisive win in both Texas and Ohio, she has no chance of
winning the Democratic nomination.
Clinton once had a large lead in each state, but recent polls are showing the
candidates as close to even, with Obama surging ahead.
Early polls show that there is a strong possibility of a Democrat in the White House in
January 2009.
Obama, in particular, is surging in popularity throughout the U.S. and some polls give
the Illinois senator an almost double-digit lead if he were to run head-to-head against
the expected Republican candidate, John McCain.

Media conceal black interracial crimes

Knoxville, Tennessee, the DA refuses to do his
job. He makes deals with the defence layers to make hin look good.
If you're like I am, you've heard scores of media reports about the 2006 Duke
University rape case, in which three white lacrosse players were falsely accused of raping
a black stripper at a wild party at the home of one of the team members. These guys,
convicted by the news media and Duke faculty, were later found innocent. It turned out
that Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong was running for re-election. In seeking
the black vote, he concealed DNA evidence that would have exonerated the lacrosse players.
You might remember hearing scores of stories about the 1998 murder of James Byrd, a
black man who was stripped, chained to a pickup truck and dragged through the streets
until he was decapitated in Jasper, Texas. The incident provided fodder for the NAACP and
others to attack then-Texas Gov. George Bush, during his 2000 election campaign, for not
supporting hate crime legislation. It turned out that two of Byrd's murderers were
sentenced to death, and the other, life in prison.
I don't know about you, but it was just recently that I heard about a gruesome murder
in Knoxville, Tenn., that is far worse than the false charges in the Duke rape case and is
at least as horrible, if not more so, than the dragging death of James Byrd. Unlike the
Duke rape case and the Jasper lynching, the national news media's coverage of the
interracial Knoxville murders paled in comparison. On Jan. 6, 2007, University of
Tennessee student Channon Christian and her boyfriend, Christopher Newsom, were carjacked
and kidnapped in Knoxville. Both of them were later murdered.
According to a 46-count indictment, suspects Darnell Cobbins, Lemaricus Davidson,
George Thomas and Vanessa Coleman, all blacks, are charged with committing rape, including
sodomy against Christian and Newsom, both of whom are white. After being raped, Newsom was
shot several times and his body was found burned along nearby railroad tracks. Christian
was forced to witness her boyfriend's rape, torture and subsequent murder before she was
ultimately raped, tortured and murdered. The police discovered her body inside a large
trash can in the kitchen of the home where the murders took place. Before disposing of her
body, the murderers poured bleach or some other cleaning agent down her throat in an
effort to destroy DNA evidence. Trial dates have been set for next May.
What have we heard from the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others who rushed to
judgment and outrage as they condemned whites in the cases of the "Jena 6" and
Don Imus when he referred to the Rutgers ladies basketball team as "nappy-headed
hos"? Where were the national news media and public officials? You can bet rent money
that were the victims black and the perpetrators white, Knoxville would have been
inundated with TV crews, with Jackson, Sharpton and other civil rights spokesmen and
politicians from both parties condemning racism, possibly blaming it all on George Bush.
According to the 2004 FBI National Crime Victimization Survey, in most instances of
interracial crimes, the victim is white and the perpetrator is black. In the case of
interracial murder for 2004, where the race of victim and perpetrator is known, more than
twice as many whites were murdered by a black than cases of a white murdering a black. The
failure of civil rights leaders, people like Jackson and Sharpton, as well as politicians
to vocally condemn black-on-white crime – and the relative silence of the news media
in reporting it – is not simply a matter of double standards. It's dangerous, for it
contributes to a pile of racial kindling awaiting a racial arsonist to set it ablaze. I
can't think of better recruitment gifts for America's racists, either white or black.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a
doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange
suit. Where were you when he was 2 ? ? Where were you when he was 12 ? ? Where were you
when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol ? ? And where is the
father ? ? Or who is his father ?
People putting their clothes on backward: Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?
People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of
something ? Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up ? Isn't it a sign of
something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing]
going through her body?
What part of Africa did this come from??
We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa .
With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are
in jail. Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's
problem. We have got to take the neighborhood back.
People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different
'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now. We have millionaire football players
who cannot read.
We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black
folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are
hurting us. We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American
citizen, you should have to speak English!

father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in
to come over and disrespect ours.

think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you threaten them
after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or
"stop" in English, see the above lines.

don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any
special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can
open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.
We
did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend
their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our
constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.
I
don't hate the rich I don't pity the poor.
I
know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from
watching them.
I
think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If
it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name
on the building.
It
doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up
to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"

think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a
political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to
look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a
single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be "African-Americans"?
Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because
my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe I am proud to be
from America and nowhere else

This war should have never been approved by
congress, if they had been doing their job we are paying them to do, they would have
